Dawn Meats has issued the final call for applications for its 2020 Brighter Futures graduate programme. Interested graduates have until Friday, 28 February to apply for the programme, which over the last two years has been the stepping stone for over 50 graduates to begin careers in the food industry.

Successful applicants will join one of Europe’s largest food companies, with more than 7,000 staff worldwide and over €2 billion in turnover. As a supplier of choice to retailers, manufacturers and food service companies in over 50 markets, graduates will get practical insights into every area of the business and right through the supply chain.

Dawn Meats offers graduates this exposure through numerous rotations during the two-year programme including procurement, engineering, finance, food safety, sustainability, new product development, operations and sales.

Tom Kenny, a recent sales and marketing graduate in Dawn Meats said that the graduate programme gave him access and insight into a varied range of disciplines. “Exposure to the entire supply chain is important to understand what it takes to become a future manager and leader within the business,” he said. “You’re also given a lot of responsibility from early on in the programme, which keeps you motivated and allows for greater job satisfaction.”

Niall Browne, Dawn Meats CEO, added that graduates are an important part of the business on a day-to-day basis. “We want the brightest minds with the best ideas,” he said, “who can ensure our ongoing progress towards becoming Europe’s most sustainable meat company.”

Dawn Meats was recognised during 2019 for its sustainability efforts and awarded the Energia Sustainable Family Business of the Year and Business in the Community Ireland’s “Business Working Responsibly” Mark across all its sites in Ireland.
