Green Isle Foods has announced the sale of Goodfella’s Pizza to UK frozen food giant Nomad Foods in a €225m deal.

As well as Goodfella’s, the deal will include the San Marco pizza brand, and the ongoing supply of private label frozen pizza brands to UK and Irish retailers, through two frozen pizza manufacturing facilities.

Goodfella’s was established by Green Isle in 1993 and quickly became a household name, and currently holds the number one market share position in the frozen pizza category in Ireland.

Green Isle’s remaining arms, which include frozen pastry, vegetable and fish products, will continue to be the property of parent comany 2 Sisters Food Group.

The cash-free, debt-free deal will be closed in the coming months subject to the usual state and legal conditions.

Nomad Foods’ other brands include the likes of Birds Eye and Findus.
