Denis O’Flynn of Ladysbridge, Co. Cork, was this week elected by the Convenience Stores and Newsagents Association to the post of National President at the Association’s AGM on Tuesday. Mr. O’Flynn, a well known figure in East Cork, owns a convenience store/service station/post office in the area and has also long been involved in a variety of social and cultural bodies in the area including the GAA and as Postmaster.

A member of the CSNA for the past five years, Denis O’Flynn previously served on the Cork City and County branch of CSNA. In his bio on the organisation’s website, he is described as having given “even-handed assessment at meetings, due no doubt to his experience as a GAA Referee of over thirty years’ standing.”

Mr. O’Flynn is also on the Association’s Membership and Affinity Sub-Committees and is its official photographer. Clearly it is contributions like that that prompted CSNA members to vote him to the top position, not to mention the fact that local service runs in his family: Denis O’Flynn is the fourth generation of his family to provide such services in his local area over the past century and a quarter.

Congratulations to Mr. O’Flynn from all at ShelfLife.ie. We wish him the very best in his post.
