The 23rd Annual General Meeting and Dinner held in the Clontarf Castle Hotel on 24 May was a great success.

Delegates from each of the 28 national branches were present to elect Joe Mannion as national president and Jim Bird as national vice president. The keynote speaker, Minister for Enterprise, Jobs & Innovation Richard Burton TD gave his wide-ranging address to the 300 attendees.

Outgoing president Liam O’Connor paid tribute to the professionalism of the numerous retailers that he had met with during the course of his presidency, and expressed the hope that new CSNA initiatives designed to stimulate interest and sales for the magazines and newspapers sector will bear fruit.

The president welcomed new National Executive members Carmel Felle, from Roselawn Newsagents in Blanchardstown and for Gerrard Greaney from Listowel, expressing the opinion that the willingness of retailers to volunteer their services to the association is most welcome and heartening.
