Research accompanying the UK campaign to get people back into the pub entitled ‘It’s Better Down The Pub’ has found that 89% of consumers reckon that pubs offer a safe environment in which to socialise.

The research, by CGA Strategy, found that 52% of consumers also believe pubs to have a positive impact on community life. Only 2% of the 322 respondents believed that pubs had a negative effect.

Some 60% use the pub at least weekly and among the key reasons for popping into the pub are ‘social get-togethers’ (85%), ‘a meal out’ (60%) and a ‘regular drink’ (41%).UK

The location attracts 52% of them to their local while for 52% it’s the staff. ‘Quality of drinks’ was cited by 45% and ‘other customers’ by 41%.
