‘Ambassadeur de la Maison Hennessy’ – and representative of the family’s eighth generation – Maurice Hennessy and David will host the two special evenings on Wednesday the 2nd February at Ananda and Friday the 4th February at Harvey Nichols. Each of the charity evenings will have wines and Hennessy pairings to complement individual courses.
David has been the Hennessy Maison’s chef since 2001 when he joined from Moët & Chandon’s Château de Saran, also part of Moët Hennessy. He previously worked at Restaurant Le Mesnil in the French town of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Michelin Star restaurant Auberge du Cheval Blanc in Westhalten, France. He’s a member of the Association of Master Chefs in France and has catered for foreign as well as French dignitaries including the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, former French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin and French actor Jean-Pierre Marielle.
Guilliame Lebrun of Patrick Guilbaud’s came to Ireland from Paris in 1981 where he worked his way up the culinary ranks to become one of Ireland’s best-known chefs in one of Ireland’s best-known restaurants.
Sunil Ghai of Ananda restaurant came to Ireland in 2001 to join the Jaipur group. Last year he won the Chef of the Year Award at the Food and Wine magazine awards.
Caroline Sleiman from Moët Hennessy commented, “Visitors to each restaurant are in for a taste explosion. Together with each of the Irish-based chefs, Chef David from Hennessy has created two delicious and unforgettable meals to complement Hennessy. I would recommend that food, wine and cognac-lovers make a reservation with either of the restaurants quickly to avoid disappointment. The idea of the evenings is to set the mood for the 21st Hennessy Gold Cup”.
Patrons should contact each of the restaurants directly to make a booking for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. For further information on Hennessy visit http://www.hennessy.com
