Total Produce CEO Rory Byrne was recently honoured at the UCD Business Alumni of the Year 2017 awards fundraising dinner at the InterContinental Hotel, Dublin.

The Alumni Awards, which have been running since 1991, are the highest honour UCD Business bestows upon its graduates. The titles recognise alumni who have demonstrated proven leadership skills, notable achievement in business and a significant contribution to the community, whether in Ireland or abroad.

Rory Byrne, who is being honoured alongside Aer Lingus chief executive Stephen Kavanagh will join a list of prominent business graduates of UCD’s Smurfit post graduate and Quinn undergraduate schools  who have previously been honoured.

Speaking of this year’s winners, Professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh, Dean, UCD Business, said: “Both men have vast business experience and are extremely passionate about the fresh produce and aviation sectors respectively.

“Both have  demonstrated extraordinary leadership and integrity within their organisations and are highly regarded within the business community in Ireland and abroad,” he added. “The characteristics which they exemplify continue to inspire future business leaders and students. We at UCD Business are enormously proud of their achievements which we are pleased to celebrate through this award, and we wish them continued success in their careers.”
