Topaz is continuing to grow its nationwide network with the announcement of two new motorway service stations, in Carlow and Fermoy, Co. Cork. The state-of-the-art sites will see an investment of €14m from the company, with McDonald’s investing a further €2m to open two restaurants as part of the new sites.

A total of 230 new jobs will be created on the two sites, with a furhter 100 construction jobs created across both sites during development.

The company says the sites’ locations on the M8 Dublin to Cork road, and the M9 Dublin to Waterford road, will make them ideally placed for motorists journeying between those cities and the surrounding locations.

“Dublin-Cork and Dublin-Waterford are two of the busiest routes in Ireland,” says Niall Anderton, MD of Topaz, “and we are delighted at the opportunity to serve Irish motorists with these two new full-service stations. This announcement is a key milestone in the continued expansion of our retail network, and we have no doubt it will be of tremendous benefit and service to commuters tourists, locals and passers-by.”
