Topaz has transformed the landscape of Citywest, Co. Dublin with the launch of a brand new service station. The recent opening of the new Topaz ‘City Avenue’ station has created 18 new jobs for the local area, located at Citywest Avenue in the Citywest Business Campus.

The overall investment in the new City Avenue site totals €3 million and this comes at a time when the company has also invested heavily in its staff. In the last 18 months alone Topaz has invested half a million in team training and development. The retailer has significantly enhanced its talent acquisition, learning and development and communications and engagement programmes, winning a number of industry leading awards in the process.

A similar investment of €3 million was made in a state-of-the-art forecourt that will service the residents of Ballysimon, Co. Limerick and the surrounding locality. Officially launched on Wednesday 20 April, the redeveloped site at Ballysimon, created 10 new jobs. Like City Avenue, the site features free Wi-Fi access, comfortable café seating, a healthy food offering, Ad Blue pumps and hand-crafted barista coffee.

Topaz believes City Avenue delivers on the group’s commitment to revolutionise the forecourt experience, with a site that completely redefines its food and coffee offering. With Re.Store, its dynamic new convenience concept, Topaz has unveiled a fresh new retail offering at the service station. Re.Store offers a wide selection of healthy and wholesome forecourt food, combining artisan treats using Irish sourced ingredients with an exceptional range of quality coffees in sites across the country. In keeping with Re.Store’s healthy concept, the company plans to provide calorie information on its deli menus from May onwards.

First Mexican tacquería in forecourt offering

Making its Dublin debut at Topaz City Avenue is the authentic Mexican food experience Cantina, bringing a real taste of Mexican food to the nation’s capital. The Cantina taquería at City Avenue was the second to open in Ireland, offering a simple yet vibrant menu boasting some of Mexico’s food favourites. The menu includes diverse food options and ingredients that will take you a journey from Oaxaca Mexico to Irish shores. Visitors to City Avenue can look forward to taking a bite out of Ireland’s newest Mexican food outlet at Cantina.

Speaking at the launch Niall Anderton, Topaz managing director said: “Today is a very significant day for Topaz with the addition of 28 new team members to our 2,000 strong staff across Ireland. It also signifies our continued intent to lead the Irish forecourt industry not only in terms of investment but also our offering. Both stations will see two new Re.Store café’s added to the 100+ Re.Store’s we opened in the last year, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to consumers by offering a revolutionary forecourt experience at forecourts nationwide.”
