Henderson Group, the co. Antrim family business which employs more than 2,800 peeople across Northern Ireland, is to invest £25m in its operations. The project, which will incorporate new head office facilities and a distribution centre, will facilitate business growth and secure employment, The Irish Times reports.

The group’s latest financial results show that the group posted an annual turnover of more than £663m last year.

Martin Agnew, the group’s joint managing director (along with his brother Geoffrey), said that it’s no secret the company’s profits tend to be re-invested in to the business so as to deliver benefits for the workforce and its customers. “This major investment in the development of a new main office and distribution site shows our commitment to providing a better working environment for our employees, as well as a more efficient way of working to benefit our retailers and logistics department.”

The project is also expected to benefit several other local firms through contracts and other agreements, the Times reports.
