Forecourt and convenience retailer Maxol has announced that the company has raised more than €8,000 for its charity partner AWARE, which provides support and information for people suffering with mental health issues.

Maxol showed its support for the charity over the June bank holiday weekend by donating 50c for every hot beverage sold at its 68 company-owned service stations nationwide. The company states that through the partnership with AWARE, it aims to promote positive mental health in communities nationwide.

“We ran a similar coffee promotion last year, which was well-received across the Maxol network,” said Caroline Burton, head of marketing for the Maxol Group. “I am delighted to say that this year more have tripled the funds raised. Mental health is an important issue in Irish communities, and we admire AWARE for its work in listening to the people that need it most.

“I also want to thank our loyal customers who supported this initiative and helped raise this amount for such an worthy cause.”
