Times have been busy for Maxol Castletroy in Co. Limerick recently, with a new-look forecourt launch following extensive refurbishment, as well as staff working hard to raise funds for Maxol’s official charity partner the Make-a-Wish foundation in a special day of fun just before Christmas. The store’s staff got out their rolling pins and aprons to rustle up home-baked goods, which they sold in store for the cause.

Generous donations were collected on the day through the sale of the goods as well as tickets for a draw that gave customers the chance to win prizes. In total, €2,300 was raised for the Make-a-Wish foundation.

Tom Duggan of Maxol Castletroy hailed his staff and customers for their contributions to the fundraiser, as did Susan O’Dwyer, chief executive of Make-a-Wish. “We rely entirely on the kindness of the public and companies such as Maxol,” O’Dwyer said. “With their help, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of ill children.”
