Mars Ireland recalls some funsize products as ‘precautionary step’

Mars Ireland is recalling funsize Mars, Milky Way, Mix Variety Pack and Celebrations products after a piece of plastic was found in one of the company’s products.

Overall, Mars Chocolate is taking the precautionary step of recalling products produced in Veghel in the Netherlands due to a possibility of plastic contamination. In some instances, a piece of plastic of this nature could present a choking hazard.

The Irish recall concerns only the products below with the following best before dates that were manufactured in the Netherlands and distributed in Ireland:

The company states that this is an isolated incident and only the above products manufactured in the Netherlands are impacted. No other varieties of chocolate, pack formats or bar sizes are affected in Ireland and no other best before dates or products manufactured at any other location are impacted.

To date, Mars Chocolate says it has only received one consumer complaint. In Ireland, Mars has not received any consumer complaints.
