The search is over – Sweetest role filled at Swizzels

Swizzels has unveiled its official sweet taster after a nationwide search which attracted thousands of entries. Aine Hickey beat over 2,500 sweet fans across the UK and Ireland to be crowned the official sweet taster for the iconic brand. Aine, who hails from Clonmel, County Tipperary, grew up in her family’s sweet shop. She is now part of the new product development team, responsible for taste testing new sweets and products before they hit shelves, as well as helping to develop new tastes and flavours.

New disruptive shopping loyalty app is launched for the Irish market

Cardtrix, a new disruptive shopping loyalty app has been launched today for the Irish market. Teeling Whiskey signs gas and electricity deal with Vayu Energy

The Teeling Whiskey Company, one of Ireland’s leading independent producers of Irish whiskey, has signed a gas and renewable electricity supply deal with Vayu Energy. Valued at €250,000 per annum, the agreement will see Vayu supply Teeling Whiskey with natural gas and 100% green electricity to meet the year-round energy requirements for its newly opened distillery in Dublin’s Newmarket Square in The Liberties.

The time is Pow: Ireland’s first low sugar low calorie energy water launches

Pow, Ireland’s first low calorie and low sugar sparkling energy water, has just launched. Created by the Powerful Water Company, Pow has been developed using natural ingredients. This new alternative to high sugar energy drinks is now stocked in Eurospar and Spar as part of an exclusive deal with a further roll out nationwide planned for later this summer. Distributed by C & C Gleeson, the brand is produced by Northern Ireland-based company, Norbev, in Ballymena.

Brú Brewery scoops three awards at prestigious World Beer Awards

Brú Brewery, from, Trim Co. Meath, has won three awards at the 2015 World Beer Awards including a Gold Medal for its Gluten Free Lager. It has also won a silver medal for its Irish Red Ale, and a bronze medal for its Irish Craft IPA. Brú Lager has been recognised for its crisp refreshing hand-crafted flavour and finish, and is the only gluten free Irish craft lager available in the Irish market. The company was founded in 2012 by Daire Harlin and Paddy Hurley.
