Forbidden Flavours join big brother Bulmers 

The flavoured cider market in Ireland is on the up and Bulmers is the country’s number one cider. However the brand believes it’s time to offer something new and a little edgier for twenty-somethings. Bulmers has therefore launched Forbidden Flavours, four new bottles of sweet tastiness in a choice of Cloudy Lemon, Strawberry & Lime, Juicy Pear and Berry Berry. Available in 500ml non-returnable bottles in both the on and off- trade, the launch is supported by above and below-the-line advertising alongside PR and trade marketing.

Carroll’s is an ‘Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards’ finalist!

Carroll’s from Tullamore has been shortlisted for the finals of the prestigious Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards. Carroll’s New Handcrafted Sea Salt and Cracked Black Pepper Ham was one of almost a thousand product entries which underwent three weeks of tough judging at the Dublin Institute of Technology’s School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology. Carroll’s is now in with a chance to win in a glittering ceremony hosted by Irish celebrity chef and proprietor of restaurant L’Ecrivain Derry Clarke, on 16 September at the Round Room, Mansion House, in Dublin.

Flanagan’s Foods’ ranges nominated as Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards finalists

‘Grace Aloe Refresh’ aloe vera drink – Original Flavour, available exclusively from Flanagan’s Foods has also been shortlisted for the finals of the prestigious Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards. ‘Grace Aloe Refresh’ is made with real aloe vera pieces, and has less than 100 calories per bottle.

Another product available exclusively from Flanagan’s Foods, Elizabeth Shaw ‘Orange Flutes’, has likewise been shortlisted for the award finals. In addition to the award, Tesco Ireland will provide the winner with a prize of €2,500 and a place on the next Tesco Taste Bud supplier development programme run in partnership with Bord Bia.

Maoam Challenge sees vloggers go head to head 

Maoam has unveiled a new campaign that will see some of YouTube’s most popular vlogging stars go head to head in a series of fun, summer challenges. The Maoam Summer Challenge, which has been designed to appeal to young adults, pairs up eight credible vloggers. Each of them will set a summer themed #MAOAMchallenge that will be answered by their vlogging partner.

LemonAid & Lollipops! Tesco stores nationwide raise over €80,000 in just six hours for Temple Street Children’s Hospital

It was a sweet success for Tesco colleagues on Saturday, 8 August, as their nationwide ‘Lemonade & Lollipops’ event raised over €80,000 in just six hours for Temple Street Children’s University Hospital. Customers were invited to enjoy a cup of lemonade and a lollipop in their local store in return for a donation to the children’s hospital. All 149 stores across the country took part in the event. This brings Tesco’s fundraising total for Temple Street, its Charity Partner of the Year, to over €900,000 since launching in October 2014.

Celtic Pure Irish awarded the British Bottlers’ Institute Gold Medal

Celtic Pure’s Irish Spring Sparkling Water has been awarded the British Bottlers’ Institute (BBI) Gold Medal for 2015. The prestigious competition attracts entrants from around the globe each year, with the winners decided via blind taste test. Celtic Pure has said it is delighted to receive such recognition from industry peers in the category of Waters & Soft Drinks. The company’s Irish Spring Still Water was also bestowed with a Diploma this year, having won the Gold Medal for 2014.
