Sadie’s Kitchen wins National Enterprise Award

Sarah Kiely, founder of Sadie's Kitchen, with Colm Ward of Enterprise Ireland and Breeda Bonner, Deputy Mayor for South Dublin County Council Sadie’s Kitchen Comforting Bone Broth has won the award for Best Startup at the South Dublin National Enterprise Awards 2018, which recognise emerging talent among Irish entrepreneurs. The title comes with a €2,500 award along with the recognition of founder Sarah Kiely as an emerging leader in Ireland’s business scene. Since it was founded in 2015, Sadie’s Kitchen has won multiple awards, recieved a high-profile investment from entrepreneur Alison Cowzer through the TV series Dragon’s Den, and entered into a partnership with healthy fast food chain Chopped. Freshly Chopped unveiled as Official Health Food Partner of the Guinness PRO14 Final Series

Ireland’s healthy fast food store Freshly Chopped has been announced as health food partner for the Guinness PRO14 Final Series when it kicks off in May. The series will take place throughout the month, before the final on May 26 at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium. Kerry Foods launches specialised Deli website

The Kerry Group has launched a new website, Deli Experts, which aims to allow retailers to tap into the group’s expertise in the deli counter area. The site will offer tips and advice on how best to use this area, which in the current climate is fast becoming the most important part of any store. It also offers a “rate your counter” test, a two minute check that will let retailers know where they can improve in order to grow the business and take their fresh offering to the next level. Ballygowan & Energise Sport renew partnership with Dublin GAA

Ballygowan and Energise Sport, part of Britvic Ireland, have renewed their partnership with Dublin GAA to remain as the official hydration partners of Dublin GAA in a new three-year deal.  The partnership will continue to see Ballygowan and Energise Sport support Dublin hurling and football teams across all age groups including U21 and senior. The announcement was made alongside Dublin’s GAA stars and management at an event to discuss the Dubs’ prospects for the 2018 season.

Darina Allen announced as Guaranteed Irish ‘Food Hero’

Renowned chef and co-founder of the Ballymaloe Cookery School Darina Allen has been announced as  ‘Guaranteed Irish Food Hero’. Allen is the latest individual to receive the accolade thanks to her significant contribution to the food industry in Ireland. She joins an elite list of Guaranteed Irish Heroes awarded the honour over the past 12 months for their various contributions to their respective sectors. Artist Maser, former Women’s Rugby Captain Niamh Briggs and Professor Louise Kenny were previously named Guaranteed Irish Heroes for their contributions to art, sport and science respectively.

Boyne Brewhouse named ‘Best Beer in Ireland’ at Alltech Irish Craft Beer Awards

Boyne Brewhouse scooped eight awards at the sixth annual Dublin Alltech, Craft Beer and Cider Cup 2018 this week, at an event in Dublin’s Convention Centre. Boyne Brewhouse ‘Imperial Stout’ was crowned the ‘Best Beer in Ireland’ while the Boyne Brewhouse Saison also received top honours on the night. In total, the Boyne Brewhouse picked up an impressive eight awards for its craft beers, which are brewed in the heart of the Boyne Valley at Drogheda’s Boyne Brewhouse and Boann Distillery.

The Times, Ireland Edition unveils new design and senior appointments

The Times, Ireland Edition, will unveil a fresh, new design this Saturday, 10 March, underlining the title’s core objective of providing readers with quality Irish journalism, debate and analysis. The new look is the result of feedback from readers across the country and follows the successful launch of the printed product in June 2017. As well as a new layout throughout the newspaper, it will be strengthened by a range of senior appointments and additional Irish content in each issue including opinion, analysis, cartoons and obituaries.  The comment section will be doubled in size, and will include columns from unique Irish voices including former RTÉ political correspondent David Davin-Power; former TD Lucinda Creighton and Newstalk Breakfast presenter Shane Coleman.
