Core and IAPI join forces to find the best young marketing talent in Ireland!

Marketing communications group Core is again joining forces with the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) as part of the 2018 Cannes ‘Young Lions’ competition. Core is sponsoring the ‘Young Marketers’ prize, which is open to young marketing duos aged 30 or under working on the client side of the business. To enter, each team of two will have to answer a brief as the brand they currently work for. The 2018 brief relates to www.checktheregister.ie, the website which allows people to check their eligibility to vote in elections and referenda. Four Star Pizza hits the bullseye with darts sponsorship deal

It’s ‘magic darts’ for Four Star Pizza this month. The company has announced a new sponsorship deal with professional darts player Daryl ‘Superchin’ Gurney. The announcement comes alongside the 2018 Unibet Premier League Darts season at the 3Arena in Dublin, where Gurney is set to make his debut in the competition in a match against five-time World Darts Champion, Raymond van Barneveld. Meanwhile, Four Star has announced plans to increase its number of stores in Ireland to 62.

Aldi Ireland to sell 2 million red roses ahead of Valentine’s Day

Aldi has predicted it will sell up to 2m red roses in the lead-up to Valentine’s Day this year, as romantics all over Ireland make it their store of choiuce. A wide range of options are available to suit all couples, not to mention all pockets. The range starts at €3.99 for A Dozen Red Roses, going all the way up to €39.99 for Aldi’s Specially Selected 100 Sweetheart Roses. The range goes on sale Sunday 11 February.

Willowbrook Foods expands production operations

Willowbrook Foods has opened a new £700,000 production facility in Northern Ireland. The producer of bagged salads and convenience foods is based on the family farm at Killinchy in county Down. It has developed a state-of-the-art production facility nearby in Newtownards, which the company hopes will enhance production, facilitate new product development and grow sales across Ireland and Britain. The site has been completely modernised to incorporate blast chillers, steam boilers, floored drainage systems and technology that will boost efficiency and quality at production level. Through the new plant, the company is seeking to more than double the output of its range of over 20 cooked vegetable products from 120 tonnes to 250 tonnes weekly.

TENA Lady Discreet voted UK’s no.1 bladder weakness range

TENA Lady Discreet has been recognised as the UK’s best bladder weakness range after being named Product of the Year for 2018. 10,637 consumers voted in this year’s Product of the Year innovation survey by TNS, which saw TENA Lady reign supreme in the Bladder Weakness category. The product launched in January 2017 to meet the growing need for products that offer increased discretion and femininity, without compromising on security and comfort.

ROS Nutrition to Fuel the Guinness PRO14 until 2019

ROS Nutrition has become the latest addition to the Guinness PRO14 sponsors, following the brand’s appointment as the Official Nutrition Partner for the Championship for the next two seasons. The partnership comes at the most exciting point in the Championship’s history having expanded into South Africa this season. ROS Nutrition will kick-off the association with an eye-catching presence on PRO14 Rugby’s social media accounts where it will provide nutrition tips and supply prizes for giveaways.
