Deliveroo reveals new algorithm Frank has reduced delivery time by 20% in Ireland 

On-demand food company Deliveroo has provided unique insight into the latest advances of its technology that sorts hundreds of thousands of orders for hungry customers worldwide every day. Deliveroo’s ‘Frank’ algorithm is based on powerful predictive technology that is able to evaluate the most efficient way of distributing orders based on the location of restaurants, riders and customers. Alongside other refinements to Deliveroo’s technology and operations, the algorithm has already helped cut delivery time by 20%. For Deliveroo’s 500+ restaurants in Ireland, Frank has significant benefits, with machine-learning helping to predict the time it will take to prepare the meal based on a specific type of order as well as on the time of day, all helping to streamline the experience from order to restaurant to customer. And thanks to improved allocation of orders and reduced restaurant waiting time, Deliveroo’s 400+ Irish riders can now complete more deliveries per hour as they travel with food for an average of just seven minutes, allowing them to earn more cash without working extra hours.

Avoca receives Two Great Taste Awards 2017

The Great Taste stars of 2017 have been announced by the Great Taste Awards, with Avoca recieving two awards. A 1-star rating was awarded to Avoca’s Preserved Lemon Harissa Paste, along with a 2-star rating for the Avoca Fresh Basil Pesto, Maoliosa Connell, Marketing Manager for Avoca said winning the awards was a true reflection of the hard work and dedication of Avoca’s food development team. “At Avoca, we really pride ourselves on the quality of the delicious fresh food we serve to our customers every day so it is extremely gratifying to be recognised for this,” Connell said.
