Tiger Beer transports guests to Singapore for opening night of Tiger Street Eats

MART Creative Hub in Portobello was transformed into a Singaporean street food adventure this week as the much-anticipated (and sold out!) Tiger Street Eats officially opened its doors for the first night of a three-day residency. Tiger Street Eats is a collaboration between Tiger Beer and hawker Chan Hon Meng, owner of the first Michelin starred “hawker stand”, Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle in Singapore. Tiger transformed the MART Creative Hub into a truly Singaporean experience for the event. From the décor to the dishes, everything about Tiger Street Eats brought together the very best of Dublin’s vibrancy and bustling energy of Singapore.

Spar Fit Live Run Series gets off to great start

The Spar FitLive event took place in Dublin’s Phoenix Park on 15 July. Over 3,000 people participated in both 5k and 10k races, many of whom were taking part in an official run for the first time. Ambassadors for the Spar FitLive Run Series are Al Porter, Karl Henry, Derval O’Rourke and Mick Clohisey, all of whom were there to offer much needed support to participants in the lead up to the event and on the day. If you are interested in participating in the next Spar FitLive Run, it will be held at Cork Airport on 17 November.

Subway opens landmark 100th store in Northern Ireland

Sandwich chain Subway has opened its milestone 100th store in Northern Ireland. Located on Upper Lisburn Road, Belfast, the new store is owned by franchisees and local businessmen, Muhammad Aamir and Akhlaq Akhtar. As a brand, Subway has undergone significant growth in Northern Ireland, with the first store opening almost 20 years ago in Botanic Avenue in Belfast. Since then it has created more than 1,500 new jobs in the region.

Compass Group commits to local food produce for Cork’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh

Compass Group Ireland has committed to sourcing as much food produce as possible from Cork and Munster suppliers for the newly redeveloped sports stadium at Parc Ui Caoimh. The company, which is also the food partner for Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, secured the catering contract for the new state of the art, multi-purpose facility when it reopens on Saturday July 22.

Sprout & Co. Voted ‘Ireland’s Favourite Visa Contactless Spot’

Sprout & Co., a seasonal and health food restaurant based on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay in Dublin, has been voted ‘Ireland’s favourite Visa Contactless Spot’ in the 2017 Visa Contactless Awards. The award comes as consumers were asked to nominate “their favourite place to make contactless payments across the country”. Once all nominations were in, four businesses were shortlisted and Sprout & Co. won the public vote, scooping the top prize of €1,000.
