Ballygowan Goes Gold to support fight against cancer

Ballygowan has unveiled a new campaign to support cancer awareness and fund cancer support services for those who battle the disease each day. Working with the Irish Cancer Society and its campaign partner Marie Curie Cancer Care in Northern Ireland, Ballygowan is asking consumers to join the fight through the Ballygowan Gold campaign. Ballygowan Gold is available in local convenience stores and supermarkets nationwide in 500ml, 750ml, 1L and 2L bottles until August 2017.

Nicaraguan Coffee farmers visit Aramark to show gratitude for Fairtrade support

Bewleys Aramark Fairtrade (1024x575)Aramark welcomed two coffee farmers from the Fairtrade coffee co-operative Soppexcca to its offices in Dublin this week. The visit, arranged by Bewley’s, was in recognition of Aramark’s support of Fairtrade. Bewley’s has announced that all of its branded fresh coffee will be moving to 100% Fairtrade in 2017 and one of Bewley’s biggest customers, Aramark, has been a vital part of that journey. The guaranteed orders and pricing also enables communities like Soppexca to invest more into producing the finest coffees.

Deliveroo launches new platform enabling restaurants and customers to connect even more

Customers, meanwhile, will gain access to over 300 leading restaurants as Deliveroo Editions brings chefs and restaurateurs to new locations in cities across the world.The roll-out of Deliveroo Editions will see Deliveroo provide restaurant partners with the infrastructure – including bespoke kitchens, local marketing support and fleets of riders – that allows them to launch delivery-only menus catered to local tastes.

Food on the Edge 2017 to hold international launch event in London

Galway’s international food symposium Food on the Edge 2017 is to hold an international launch event at London’s Paradise Garage restaurant. Host chef Robin Gill will create Food on the Edge specialty snacks alongside guest chefs Nathan Outlaw, Anna Haugh, Tom Adams and the festival’s founder JP McMahon. The event will also unveil details about the upcoming event, which takes place this 9 and 10 October.

Heineken launches H41 “Wild Lager”

Heineken Ireland has introduced H41, a limited edition lager brewed using the rare ‘mother’ yeast discovered in the Patagonia region of South America. Taking consumers  on a voyage of discovery that led Heineken Master Brewers to the wildest area of southern Argentina, the new lager boasts a full bodied taste, with spicy notes balanced by subtle hints of fruit, with a 5.3% ABV. The name H41 is derived from the latitude coordinate of the beech forest in Patagonia, where the wild yeast was discovered.
