This week sees Lidl take its first steps into the world of fashion with the launch of Esmara, an autumn/winter line developed in conjunction with supermodel legend Heidi Klum. To mark the occiasion, the German discounter has taken over a premises on Grafton Street for a four-day pop-up store, where it will display the ambitious new range.

Klum has described the new line as a “tribute to New York and all the city’s self-confident women.”

The line was launched by Lidl and Klum at New York Fashion Week, with a tongue-in-cheek supermarket-themed launch party. “I’m proud to have this range in a supermarket,” Klum told The Irish Times. “What is so amazing about this collaboration is I can reach so many women. I feel that I can make so many woman happy.”

It will be on display, but not available for purchase, in the store from September 14 – 17; the collection will subsequently become available at Lidl stores around the country from Monday 18 September.
