The Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund is launching a new initiative, called the Grocers Fun Run. The IGBF has been serving the Irish grocery industry since 1981 by providing an important industry network and organizing fundraising initiatives in order to donate essential financial relief to members of the trade and their families.

The organisation has evolved considerably over the past 35 years and in 2016 the launch of Today’s Women In Grocery (TWIG) saw the move to establish a female focused professional networking forum for women in the grocery trade and food sector, recognizing the growing representation of women in the sector and the important role they will play in its future development.

Following on from the success of this, the IGBF looks to further widen its fundraising initiatives and its reach within the grocery industry with the launch of the Grocers Fun Run, a family-focused event.

Sponsored by Keelings, the inaugural Grocers Fun Run will be held in Corkagh Park, Dublin on Sunday 8 October 2017. The event invites people from within the grocery industry, together with their families to participate in a 5k family run (or walk) in the park.  There will be a 2.5k run for children participating and family entertainment will be provided on the day.

Spaces will be limited for this event so register early to avoid disappointment.
