Heineken Ireland owned the night at the All Ireland Marketing awards in Dublin last week, scooping the coveted award of Marketing Team of the Year. Led by marketing director Sharon Walsh, the prestigious award is the result of a concerted effort from Heineken Ireland to step up its game in marketing, using new initiatives to deliver growth within the portfolio.

Heineken Ireland believes its marketing team has led the charge to align the entire business behind a consumer- centric vision with innovation at its core.  The company says this vision has fostered a faster-moving, entrepreneurial culture with a bold ambition, allowing the team to pre-empt change and excite customers with new brand, taste and marketing experiences.

Sharon Walsh, marketing director of Heineken Ireland, said the team was “delighted with the industry recognition. With some stiff competition, we were selected as a result of our teamwork to achieve impact on our performance, organisation, culture, collaboration, problem-solving, communications and measurement,” she added. “Being successful today means having the ability to adapt quickly and deliver marketing and innovation at the speed of consumers needs.”

Heineken Ireland is a wholly owned subsidiary of Heineken N.V, which first started brewing in Cork 160 years ago and currently employs over 450 people in the brewery. Its portfolio includes Ireland’s number one lager, Heineken, Orchard Thieves, Desperados, Tiger, Coors Light, Fosters, Sol, Beamish Stout, Murphy’s Stout, and the Beer Frontier, a range of specialty beers, which includes Affligem, Paulaner, Moretti, Zywiec.
