Febvreuary, a month-long series of events organised by Febvre Wines, is underway following a successful first week. One of the highlights was a Tuscan Lifestyle tasting, hosted by Dante Cecchini of Banfi Wines, which included a showcase of three Brunello di Montacino vintages. Meanwhile, the great Louis Latour engaged the audience at his talk by presenting twelve individual wines to showcase the story of Maison Latour over the past one hundred years.

As the second week of Febvreuary gets underway, there are plenty more fascinating and informative events to look forward to. “21 Wines, 21 Days”  – a tasting of interesting an unusual wines will continue at the Febvre showrooms at Sandyford in Dublin. Also on display is the Le Verre de Vin wine by the glass technology, as well as ranges of Eurocave wine cabinets and Spiegalau Glasses.

Fiona Beckett`Further afield, Noel McMahon, Febvre’s wine educator will host a tasting themed “Not the Usual Suspects” at Kelly’s Hotel on Dublin’s South Great George’s Street today at 4pm. Award-winning journalist Fiona Beckett (pictured) of matchingfoodandwine.com will be travelling all over Ireland as part of Febvreuary, to offer a series of presentations on how food seasoning can and should affect one’s choice of wines.

Those and lots more events make up week 2 of Febveruary, with many more to come later in the month. Trade and Press are encouraged to visit febvre.ie/events for a full listing of what’s on and where, and to book a place.
