Card Factory, the UK’s leading specialist retailer of greeting cards, dressings and gifts, has announced plans to open its seventh store in the Republic of Ireland. The new store, in Blanchardstown’s Westend shopping park, will this Monday, 5 February at 9am, in the Westend shopping park, Blanchardstown.

Card Factory opened its first store in the Republic of Ireland last year as part of its ongoing strategy to expand into the Irish market, with this latest Blanchardstown store due to be the retailer’s largest outlet in the region to date.

To celebrate the launch, Card Factory will be handing out goody bags to its first 100 customers who visit the new store on Thursday, 8 February.

The celebrations will continue on Friday, 9 February, with popular character Fireman Sam spending the day in store, greeting younger customers.

Card Factory opened its first store in Wakefield, England, in 1997 and has since grown consistently, now operating over 900 stores across the UK and Ireland, opening an average of 50 new stores every year over the past decade. Approximately 6,500 people are employed by Card Factory with up to 6,000 additional seasonal staff joining the team during the busiest times of year.

“We are excited to announce the opening of this landmark seventh store in the Republic of Ireland,” said a Card Factory spokesperson. “It will be our largest retail outlet in the country so far. We have plans to grow our footprint in the region even more over the coming year.”
